DA Facilitators News 1/16/22

  •  Please fill this Doodle poll in order to choose the day for the next facilitators general meeting. Please contact Igor if you are ready to host or cohost it ; )

• DA Facilitators are invited to co-vision with DA Therapists and DA Guides

Date: Saturday January 22nd, 2022 - a two-hour meeting.

Times: 7a Pacific US, 10a Eastern US, 3p British Standard, 4p Central Europe

. For those of you who have attended the Guides Gathering before, you know we've spent the last 2 months getting to know some of our colleagues across these 3 groups -- now we're going to have a dialogue to see what opportunities exist to co-create a future together.

This gathering will be a story-telling session of what each of us sees as possible, both for collaboration among us and for our ability to serve the world (doesn't it seem slightly ridiculous that each group has historically been out there doing our separate thing? and why not crowd-source ways of serving our mission more effectively by all getting together to share our wants and dreams!)  Come with a story of how we could all serve together!

•   The next DA Facilitation Practice course for facilitators is on the way: “Relational Being” with Maria Perkins is going to start on the 28th of February in different timezones.

This five week training course is intended for DA Facilitators who wish to deepen the skills of relational being, and more confidently hold space for Deep Relating.

Deep Relating is a ‘relational meditation’ practice that allows us to examine our inner world of thoughts, emotions, sensations and intuitive visions as they arise in our communication with one another. It’s a space where we come together to explore what is true in the present moment and voice it from a place of deep ownership and respect for ourselves and each other.

European and Australasian timezones:

We begin on Monday 28th February, 8-10am UTC,  7-9pm AZ and continue at the same time on 7th March, 14th March, 21st March, 28th March

Check your start time here: https://everytimezone.com/s/27478227

Americas and European timezones:

We begin on Monday 28th February, 9-11 PST  5-7 UTC and continue at the same time on 7th March, 14th March, 21st March, 28th March

Check your start time here: https://everytimezone.com/s/76c9c159

The training is offered on a “pay what you can basis”. The suggested exchange is 80; you can pay more than that, or nothing. No-one will be excluded on financial grounds.

Places are limited to 11 per course to keep the space safe (enough). Priority will be given to facilitators who are willing to host or co-host DA Deep Relating Circles.

Registration opens on 22nd January: https://forms.gle/6wCm41cBbPJpVq1r5

This training course is held by Maria Perkins who has regularly hosted and co-hosted Deep Relating and Deep Listening Circles in DA for the past 2 years.  If you have any questions, or would like more details and a reminder sent to you before registration opens, please email mariaperkins.fi@gmail.com

•   Our new events calendar is at: deepadaptation.info/events.  Please take advantage of our groups.  Events are no longer created in Facebook.  You can create events in Ning… and we hope you can also do so shortly in the new system, meanwhile request Terry to create them for you using the events spreadsheet or via email.

•   Please remember to place a donation link at the end of your DA Facilitated events and to ask, if it is appropriate, to make a contribution for the DA Facilitators community of practice. Here is the right link to share: https://opencollective.com/deep-adaptation-forum/projects/spirit-of-generosity

•   Discussions on the hot topics of COVID regulations, mandatory vaccination etc have been started in the Deep Adaptation Forum since Jem Bendell published several posts about it and shared his thoughts in the DA quarterly newsletter. This is a delicate topic that provokes polarization of positions and rising tensions. Core team members Kat Soares and Cat Jenkins have clarified DAF's role in this situation in the Deep Adaptation Facebook group.. We can discuss this situation during the next facilitators general meeting, for now Igor Polskiy as DA facilitation coordinator wants to share some news about following events around these topics:
“You might notice the new events “
the Freedom to care” appeared both in the main DA Facebook group (15th of January) and in the DA Facilitators FB group (22th of January, for DA facilitators). It is a new format of sharing and emotional support for people who experience difficult emotions and circumstances connected to COVID regulations. These events are not aimed to convince anyone or to understand who is right and who is wrong. Bjørn Vasudev, a colleague of Jem's, will host these events. He has contacted me in order to invite facilitators to this meeting. I accepted this invitation, as I want to experience the format in order to create my own opinion about it. This is not a “DA Facilitated event” as its host is not a DA facilitator at the moment. Please feel free to participate if you want or to ignore it. After the January 22 session for facilitators there will be time to give feedback and share your thoughts or concerns about this kind of events in the DAF field. We will not make any decisions about it during the event, but will continue discussion on the next general meeting (without sharing confidential stories).
When there are some tensions, I prefer to bring more light and to come closer to its source. Hopefully we do have the wisdom to listen to each other carefully before making fast judgments or expressing
prejudices. Thank you. Igor P.”
